Carrier oil

Grapeseed oil as a carrier for essential oils

Grapeseed oil is thin, light and nearly scentless, so it disappears into skin and lets essential oils lead. It’s an inexpensive massage and body oil — and a good nut-free alternative to sweet almond.

Best for

  • Light massage & body oils
  • Nut-free blends
  • Oily or combination skin
  • Large batches on a budget

Using it with essential oils

A 2% body oil is about 12 drops of essential oil per 30 ml of grapeseed.

Common questions

Is grapeseed oil a good carrier oil?
Yes — it’s light, nearly odourless and nut-free, which makes it a practical everyday choice for massage and body oils.

Typical makeup figures are commonly published ranges; real oils vary with origin and processing. Always patch-test, and dilute essential oils for the person and the use. Compare all carrier oils →
