Carrier oil
Avocado oil as a carrier for essential oils
Avocado oil is thick, rich and deeply cushioning — wonderful for very dry skin, cuticles and balms, but heavy on its own. Most blenders mix 10–25% of it into a lighter carrier.

Things to watch
Heavy texture can feel greasy on oily skin. Patch-test; rare cross-reactions exist with latex-fruit allergies.
Common questions
- Is avocado oil too heavy as a carrier?
- On its own it’s rich. Mixed at 10–25% into a lighter oil, it adds cushion without the greasiness.
Typical makeup figures are commonly published ranges; real oils vary with origin and processing. Always patch-test, and dilute essential oils for the person and the use. Compare all carrier oils →
