KidScents Owie
The concentrated essential oil version of Young Living's KidScents Owie, formulated for minor bumps and everyday childhood scrapes.
How to use it
Blend at 1% or less in a carrier oil before applying near a child.
Use on unaffected skin near a scrape, not on broken skin; patch-test first.
In this blend
The concentrated, mix-your-own version of the Owie comfort blend.
KidScents Owie is the concentrated dropper-bottle version of Young Living’s children’s comfort blend for minor bumps and scrapes. Unlike its pre-diluted sibling, the Owie Roll-On, this bottle holds full-strength essential oil and needs to be mixed with a carrier oil before it ever touches a child’s skin.
What’s in the blend
The formula draws on oils long used in skin-comfort routines, including copaiba and helichrysum alongside softer supporting notes like cedarwood and lavender. Undiluted, the aroma is more concentrated and slightly sharper than the roll-on version, which is one more reason to dilute generously before use.
Why the concentrate exists
Families who go through a lot of Owie, or who want to build their own bedtime or after-school comfort blend with a slightly different carrier or strength, tend to reach for the concentrate. It’s also the more economical option per drop, since you’re not paying for the coconut-oil base.
How to use it
Dilute to 1% or less in a carrier oil — roughly one drop of Owie per teaspoon of carrier — before applying anywhere near a child. Apply to the skin around, not directly on, a scrape or bump, and always patch-test on an unaffected area first.
What it’s not
Like the roll-on, this is a comfort and aroma product for the ordinary scrapes of childhood, not a wound-care product. It doesn’t replace proper cleaning, bandaging, or medical attention for anything beyond superficial skin.
A note on kids and oils
Because it’s easy to over-concentrate a dropper oil for a small child’s body, many parents find the pre-diluted Roll-On simpler and safer for quick, on-the-go application. If you do dilute your own, store the diluted mix (and the original bottle) well out of children’s reach, and check with a pediatrician before use on infants or kids with sensitive skin or health conditions.
