How to use it

A few drops suit a quiet room better than an active or shared space.
In this blend
Basil, marjoram, lavender, peppermint, Roman chamomile, and helichrysum.
M-Grain is one of Young Living’s longest-standing proprietary blends, combining basil, marjoram, lavender, peppermint, Roman chamomile, and helichrysum into a cooling, herbaceous aroma. It’s marketed specifically around occasional head tension and discomfort rather than general wellness use, and its name is widely understood within the Young Living community as a nod to that specific use case.
The blend, oil by oil
Basil provides a sharp, herbal top note; marjoram brings warm, herbaceous depth; lavender adds a calming floral balance; peppermint delivers the cooling sensation on skin that many people associate with tension relief; Roman chamomile contributes a soft, apple-like floral note; and helichrysum rounds things out with a honeyed, slightly resinous background.
On skin
Dilute before applying — a light touch to the temples, back of the neck, or forehead is the typical use. Because peppermint is a strong component and can cause a cooling-to-burning sensation near mucous membranes, keep it well away from the eyes and always patch-test first.
In the diffuser
Used sparingly, its cooling, minty-herbaceous notes suit a quiet room better than an active or shared space — this isn’t a blend most people diffuse for general ambiance.
What pairs well
Because it’s already a complex six-oil blend, most people use M-Grain on its own rather than layering it with other oils.
Sourcing note
As with Young Living’s other named blends, the six-oil ratio is proprietary — buying the labeled product is the only way to reproduce the intended balance. See our allergy and safety guide before first use.
